Your adventure begins with a morning flight from Dar es Salaam (or Entebbe via connection) to
Mtemere Airstrip, the main entry point to Nyerere National Park. Upon arrival, you’ll be warmly
welcomed by your Neste Uganda Safaris guide and transferred by open 4x4 vehicle to your
lodge or tented camp located along the Rufiji River. Along the route, enjoy your first sightings of
impalas, giraffes, and possibly elephants or warthogs. After check-in and lunch, embark on a
memorable sunset boat safari along the Rufiji. Drift past hippos wallowing in the water,
crocodiles sunbathing on the banks, and flocks of water birds—kingfishers, fish eagles, and
herons. This is one of the best ways to take in the beauty of the park's waterways and absorb its
tranquil yet wild atmosphere. Return to camp for dinner and spend the night under the stars, with
the sounds of nature surrounding you.

Wake up early for a full-day game drive, with breakfast packed for a scenic bush stop. Nyerere’s
vast savannahs, woodlands, and riverine forests host an impressive range of wildlife. You’ll
search for the Big Five (particularly lions, elephants, and buffalos), along with wild dogs, which
the park is renowned for. Your experienced guide will help track animals and explain their
behavior, habitats, and conservation importance.
Expect to encounter giraffes browsing, zebras in herds, wildebeests, bushbucks, and possibly
leopards resting in the trees. You’ll stop at scenic points for lunch and rest before continuing the
adventure into different sections of the park. The diversity of landscapes—from open plains to
miombo woodlands—means every turn offers something new. Return to camp in the late
afternoon for a hot shower, a sundowner overlooking the river, and a hearty dinner by the
campfire.

On your final morning, rise early for a guided walking safari—one of Nyerere's signature

Return to camp for breakfast and check-out. On your way back to the airstrip, enjoy a final mini-
game drive for farewell wildlife sightings. You’ll board your scheduled return flight to Dar es
