Today: Arrive in Goma (via Kigali, Rwanda or Goma Airport) and Meet your guide at the Grande Barrière
border post (if arriving from Rwanda). Brief immigration stops and handover of park entry and visa
documents. Afterwords, transfer to the Goma pier and board a motorboat to Tchegera Island (30–45
minutes). Check-in to your lodge for a peaceful eco-retreat on a crescent-shaped island surrounded by
calm waters and volcano views. Activities to lookout for include: Kayaking, paddle boarding, or
swimming, Nature walks around the island, relax in a hammock or enjoy local drinks on the beach and
Watch the sunset behind Mount Nyiragongo. Dinner and overnight mark the end of the day.

Start your day with a Sunrise on the Lake and Return to the Mainland with a Mid-morning boat transfer
back to Goma port to Meet your Virunga Park driver for the drive (~1.5 hours) to the Kibumba area
inside Virunga National Park. You will arrive at your lodge and settle in for Lunch, and refreshment as
you wait for dinner and overnight.

Early Morning, you will Transfer to Bukima Ranger Station to Join other trekkers for a briefing on gorilla
behavior, trekking safety, and conservation efforts. The trekking follows through the lush rainforest and
volcanic foothills to find a habituated gorilla family. The trekking lasts for approximately 1-4 hours
depending on guerrilla movement. Once found, spend 1 hour observing them up close- silverbacks,
playful juveniles, and nurturing mothers; A profound, once-in-a-lifetime experience.
After the trekking experience, wait for the evening at the lodge to Celebrate the trek with a farewell
dinner and Enjoy the calm sounds of the forest at night.

Early morning, Check-out & Drive to Goma from where you will proceed to Kigali Rwanda on a 5-6-hour
scenic drive. This drop-off marks the end of the trip.
