Murchison Fall National park

This is Uganda’s oldest and largest savanna park. Murchison is by far one of the finest vacation destinations in the world. It is situated about 305kms from the heart of Kampala; Uganda’s oldest capital city (5-6 hour drive). The park sprawls through Nwoya and Masindi district among others, with a wide range of flora and fauna.

 Besides the captivating Landscape; find the mammals namely; lions, leopards, several Antelope species, zebras, and warthogs among others; Birds such as the Egyptian geese, cranes, lovebirds, and Turacos; and plants such as whistling acacia. The magnificent Murchison fall in the park is the most powerful water fall in the world; with deafening thunders and a might waterfall squeezing on a 7meter gorge.

The park is divided into two sectors; the northern and the southern; with Game viewing takes place in mainly the northern part. Those who spend their nights in the southern sector have to catch-up with the early morning Ferry to the northern sector. The Ferry crossing time is at 8am, 12noon, 2pm and 5pm for return.

On a visit to Murchison Fall, activities to engage in are not Limited to; Game viewing; Top of the fall hike, Boat cruise to the bottom of the fall, and Birdwatching,  Chimpanzee trekking takes place at Budongo forest at the Boundary of the park at the southern side. There are over 5gates in the park, open at 7:00am and closing at 7:00pm all year round.
