Detailed Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and City Tour

  • Arrival: Upon landing at Entebbe International Airport, you will meet your safari guide who will assist with airport formalities before transferring you to your lodge for rest.
  • City Tour: Explore Kampala's vibrant city life with visits to local markets, the National Museum, Gadhafi Mosque, and the King's Palace, including the historical touch chamber of former presidents. Enjoy lunch in the city before returning to your lodge for dinner and rest.

Day 2: Transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

  • Morning: Early breakfast at the lodge before heading to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.
  • Briefing and Trekking: Upon arrival, attend a pre-trekking briefing at the park headquarters, followed by document verification. Spend the day trekking through the forest, observing the majestic Mountain Gorillas in their natural habitat. After the trek, return to the lodge for refreshment, dinner, and rest.

Day 3: Batwa Trail Walk and Cultural Experience

  • Morning: After breakfast, meet with the Batwa people, an indigenous tribe with a rich cultural heritage. Begin with a briefing and prayer before embarking on a trail walk through the forest to learn about their traditional way of life, including medicinal plants, hunting tools, and cave dwellings.
  • Afternoon: After lunch, enjoy a cultural encounter with the Batwa Pygmies, known for their short stature and unique customs. Conclude the day with dinner and a peaceful night at the lodge.

Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park via Ishasha Sector

  • Morning: After breakfast, check out and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, passing through the Ishasha sector.
  • Afternoon: Enjoy a chance to see the rare tree-climbing lions and have lunch en route. Upon arrival at the park, check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Game Drive and Boat Cruise

  • Morning: Start the day with a sunrise game drive, where you may spot lions, elephants, zebras, buffaloes, antelopes, and various bird species. Enjoy a picnic lunch amidst the park’s stunning scenery.
  • Afternoon: Embark on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, keeping an eye out for hippos, crocodiles, and aquatic birds. Return to the lodge for dinner and rest.

Day 6: Drive to Lake Bunyonyi

  • Morning: After breakfast, depart for Lake Bunyonyi, known as the "second Switzerland" for its breathtaking beauty.
  • Afternoon: Arrive at the lodge, check in, and enjoy lunch. You may opt for an optional activity in the evening before settling in for dinner and a peaceful slumber.

Day 7: Canoe Ride and Relaxation

  • Morning: Begin with a hearty breakfast before heading out for a canoe ride on Lake Bunyonyi, which is surrounded by over 29 islands, each with its unique history. Learn about the lake's fascinating facts, spot birds, and identify local plants.
  • Afternoon: Enjoy lunch and spend the day at leisure, soaking in the serene environment. End the day with dinner at the lodge.

Day 8: Departure

  • Morning: After a delicious breakfast, begin your journey back to Entebbe International Airport. En route, stop at the Equator for lunch and photo opportunities. Upon arrival at the airport, board your flight to your next destination.
