Trip Overview

This unique 9-day safari in Uganda, the "Pearl of Africa," combines cultural exploration and wildlife adventures. You'll experience the heartfelt traditions of local communities, taste authentic culinary dishes, and witness some of Uganda's most beautiful landscapes and wildlife. Highlights include visits to local schools, cultural exchanges with the Karamojong, game drives in Kidepo National Park, plantation tours in Fort Portal, and learning the ancient practices of the Batwa pygmies.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Jinja City

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you’ll be warmly greeted by our senior driver guide who will brief you and transfer you to Jinja (3-4 hours). Along the way, enjoy the sights of busy streets, Mabira Forest, the magical Jinja Bridge, and local plantations. Upon arrival in Jinja, enjoy lunch and take an evening tour of the city, visiting one of the landing sites to observe the local fishermen's way of life.

Day 2: Visit NGO and Boat Cruise on River Nile

After breakfast, you’ll visit a local NGO, "Children of the Future," to interact with the children and hear stories about their community. After spending 6 hours with them, enjoy lunch and then embark on a sunset boat cruise along the Nile River.

Day 3: Transfer to Kidepo National Park

After an early breakfast, you’ll head to Kidepo Valley National Park (9-10 hours), passing stunning landscapes, rolling hills, and plantations. You’ll stop for lunch and visit the Njero Rock to see ancient rock paintings before arriving at your lodge in the evening.

Day 4: Sunrise Game Drive and Cultural Tour

Begin your day with a sunrise game drive in the Narus Valley, where you’ll see elephants, buffalo, lions, leopards, ostriches, and various antelope species. After lunch, visit the Karamojong community to learn about their cattle herding traditions and experience a guided hike in the mountain ranges.

Day 5: Transfer to Fort Portal and Isunga Cultural Community

After breakfast, you’ll head southwest towards Fort Portal, stopping for lunch along the way. Upon arrival, settle in for dinner and an overnight stay at the Isunga Cultural Community.

Day 6: Plantation Tour and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Start your day with a guided plantation tour to learn about local farming methods. You’ll also visit the cold springs before lunch. Later, transfer to the Rushaga sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Day 7-8: Batwa Experience - Be a Bushman

Spend two days immersing yourself in the ancient traditions of the Batwa pygmies. Engage in nature walks, learn about their use of plants for medicine, and explore their ancient hunting techniques. Listen to their stories and enjoy traditional songs as you experience a bygone era.

Day 9 (5th November): Transfer to Kampala and Departure

After breakfast, you’ll begin your journey back to Kampala with a stopover at the equator for lunch and sightseeing. You’ll arrive at Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight around 6:00 PM.
