Safari Overview

Embark on a 3-day safari to Volcanoes National Park, home to the endangered Mountain Gorillas. Trek through the mountains to witness these incredible primates up close, and enjoy a Kigali City Tour along with an exploration of the Musaze Cave. This unforgettable adventure includes meals, accommodation, and security, providing an immersive experience in Rwanda’s beautiful landscapes.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Your adventure begins with a pick-up from the agreed location by our experienced company driver-guide, who will brief you on the itinerary for the next three days. From there, enjoy a scenic 2-3 hour drive to Volcanoes National Park, passing through rolling hills and local homesteads. Upon arrival, you will check in at your lodge for lunch and refreshments.

In the afternoon, embark on a one-hour exploration of the Musaze Cave, a historical site with fascinating geological formations. End the day with dinner and a comfortable night at your lodge.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking

Wake up early for a 5 a.m. breakfast, and then head to the park headquarters for a pre-trekking briefing by expert ranger guides. You will be introduced to the life of the Gorillas, receive trekking guidelines, and be assigned a Gorilla family for your trek.

The Gorilla trekking session may take anywhere from 1-8 hours, depending on the location of the Gorilla family. Once you find them, you will spend a magical hour observing the Gorillas as they feed, play, and go about their daily activities.

Return to your lodge in the evening for relaxation, dinner, and a peaceful night's rest.

Day 3: Departure

After a hearty breakfast, check out of your lodge and enjoy a scenic 2-3 hour drive back to Kigali International Airport or to another destination of your choice. If you have additional activities or tours planned, our team is happy to assist you in making the end of your safari as memorable as possible.
